Front Runner – Amit Zhankar

Front Runner – Amit Zhankar

Front Runners are exceptional individuals who run for the cause of educating children at Bhumi.
Every stride they take helps Bhumi support the children with their literacy, numeracy and life skills.
Thank you, Front Runners – for taking us forward in this journey of Change.

Tell us a little about yourself!

I’m a married man, working as a Software Professional in Mumbai. My hobbies are listening to music, travelling to and exploring different places, driving, hiking/trekking and of course, running!

What made you take up running?

The main reason for taking up running for me, was fitness. As they say, running can help you live longer.

What does running mean to you?

Running is yoga to me. I get extremely cranky if I skip my work-out for the day, so I make sure I don’t miss it.

What is the source of your inspiration? What keeps you motivated to continue running?

Fitness and management of weight is the primary motivation for me to keep running. It has driven me so much and I make sure to spread the awareness and motivate the people around me as well.

Do you think running should be associated with a cause? Why?

There are many ways to impact society, but I believe running is one very powerful tool. It should definitely be associated with a social cause because while it helps with fitness, we can also help better lives, by raising funds. Bhumi has been doing this successfully for years now.

How do you associate Bhumi with the cause that you believe in?

I am ready to play any role, if it means contributing to change. I can be a volunteer or a pacer, as long as there’s an impact.
