Front Runner- Ajay Pal Singh

Front Runner- Ajay Pal Singh

Front Runners are exceptional individuals who run for the cause of educating children at Bhumi. Every stride they take helps Bhumi support the children with their literacy, numeracy and life skills. Thank you, Front Runners – for taking us forward in this journey of Change.

1) Tell us a little about yourself & how did your start running?

I work for Mitsubishi Hitachi Company called Primetals as Sr. VP and took up running after realizing that I am spending substantial time in hospitals negotiating multiple health issues with a bowl of medicines regularly.

3) What does running mean to you?

Running to me is just a bit of flying in between each step, just enough to keep me wanting it more and more. It’s meditation! It’s an obsession with being so in tune to the body that I can compete giving everything it has, and be awed by what it can do. The by product has been a medicine free journey of close to 4 years now with an average investment of less than an hour a day.

What is the source of your inspiration? What keeps you motivated to continue running ?

The initial inspiration came from my college mates during a get together followed by constant motivation from all fellow runners in our running group – Unirunners until one fine day the long enough motivation, inspiration & discipline got silently intersected by habit. This habit eventually made me see the magic of my medical reports slowly turning from red to deep green giving me enough reason not to quit this habit.

How do you associate Bhumi with the cause you believe in ?

Each one of us is here on this earth, at this time, for a reason. One reason is to take care of each other, to lift each other up. Runners do this and running taught me this. The spirit of Bhumi is exactly the same. Taking care, lifting people and reminding me about the goodness of people each and every day!
