Front Runners are exceptional individuals who run for the cause of educating children at Bhumi. Every stride they take helps Bhumi support the children with their literacy, numeracy and life skills. Thank you, Front Runners – for taking us forward in this journey of Change.

1) Tell us a little about yourself

 I am  Dr Bhavana Diyora , a Preventive Health & Wellness Consultant & an Ayurveda Nutritionist. I have been an avid runner, cyclist & yoga expert for some years now. I enjoy my journey as a skilled coach who has inspired many to take up running as a fitness regime. Currently I act as the chief coach of SKECHERS GORUN CLUB, a premier running club in Mumbai. To add to my set of achievements I also double up as a successful Race director & Race organizer of many reputed running events.

2) What made you take up running ? 

 Being in the field of Health & Nutrition I was always inclined towards activities  that promote a better & healthy lifestyle. I participated in my first 10 K just to experience and explore my physical limits and included my sisters and friends along. We all enjoyed the first experience of running after the short training. There is no greater sense of satisfaction than what you get from setting a personal goal and conquering it.After my first few running experiences I realised how it shaped me as an individual and decided to take it up seriously. I started training for it rigorously and now I participate in almost all half marathons across India. 

3) What does running mean to you?

Running helps me disconnect from the mundane tasks of my professional work and provides a space where I can relax. The confidence that comes with crossing the finish lines carries over into your daily life. When you accomplish hard things, you realize that you have the strength to not let anything get you down.It makes me feel like I’m an invincible superwoman who can accomplish anything. 

What is the source of your inspiration? What keeps you motivated to continue running ? 

Running has helped me connect with so many others from the same community who have now become my close friends. As runners we share a bond that goes deep, we support each other in running and many other aspects of our lives.Every new runner I  meet inspires me to do more and explore further. 

How do you associate Bhumi with the cause you believe in ?

I have been associated with Bhumi for four years now and it has been nothing short of enriching and heart warming for me. I have personally witnessed Bhumi volunteers working for different causes selflessly,with great enthusiasm. I truly believe that running can also be used as a way to contribute to society. Running for something that’s bigger than yourself is a great way to stay motivated to keep training and can make your races even more meaningful and fulfilling.

Bhumi India Run is a great platform where you can run for the cause of educating the underprivileged. The run is very professionally organised and offers a great experience to all runners with an added benefit of supporting a social cause.
